Regardless of whether you consider yourself a leader or not, you have much to gain from this fast-reading book or watching the introductory webcast.
Did you know that over 80% of our challenges are within our control? Yet too few of us recognize our inherent leadership level and capacity. We’re often prone to focus on leadership and management skills instead of the body, mind, and spirit of the person called to lead.
Over the course of the book, we’ll explore some of the questions and misconceptions about leading that I’ve encountered over the years. Please leverage my lessons to your benefit, but be skeptical. My intention is not to conform you to my style or view of leadership but to provoke your thinking. Ideally, you’ll refine your understanding and come to realize how you are uniquely fit for leading.
By design, my words are brief and to the point in appreciation for your busy schedule. We’ll cover a lot of ground rather than dig deep. You can best assess which combination of actions will improve your leadership and where to explore with the many linked resources provided. Admittedly, some of those resources will point you back to my books or services as well as the wonderful works and services of others.
My goal is to always serve your best interest by giving you the best of my thinking, relationships, experiences, and research. I happen to like my stuff! Stories register in the brain. True stories will be sprinkled about to illustrate a point or moral. Assume every anecdote is based on my personal experience with clients. If a story is fictional, I’ll tell you. Names are changed for privacy.
Most of the chapter titles are questions. FIT 4 Leading is designed with a logical flow, but feel free to browse to the questions most relevant to your needs. The point is to help you find the best fit or to form the highest expression for your inherent leadership level. That’s it! Let’s have some fun exploring your leadership fitness.
